SS Pathfinder · Crew File 01
Olivia.
An engineering cadet on humanity's first deep-space mission — and the voice it sends home.
Olivia Locke has been talking to a camera since she was fourteen. The channel started small — a girl in Ballard narrating her week to an audience of strangers — and stayed loyal rather than vast. Then the strangers watched her grow up, get into the Academy, and write a master's thesis on resonance-field propulsion good enough to earn her a berth on the SS Pathfinder.
She is one of about two hundred cadets aboard a ship of 84,522, and one of the few people on it anyone back home could name. Her father was Daniel Locke — the MERIDIAN pioneer lost beyond Mars orbit when she was thirteen. She does not trade on the name. She mostly doesn't mention it. A year after the funeral, the vlog began.
Now Liv at Lightspeed goes further than any channel has ever gone — and the name has become the literal truth. There are no live replies out here; every transmission crawls home at the speed of light, and the answers crawl back. She films anyway. Somebody might be listening.
More tomorrow — if I survive.EP_001 — Goodbye, Earth
